Frequently asked
Does Sport-Sync require an account?
No. Sport-Sync is local-first — there is no login, no cloud sync, and no account required. Open the app and start a drill.
Does it work offline?
Yes, 100%. Every feature — interval timing, voice cues, custom drill templates — runs on-device with no network needed.
How do I share a drill with another coach?
Use Export Template from the drill menu. Sport-Sync produces a small file (or universal link) the other coach can open in their copy of Sport-Sync to import the drill.
Audio cues aren't playing — what do I check?
On iOS, confirm your phone isn't in silent mode (the side switch or Focus mode mutes audio cues). On Android, check the media volume slider. Sport-Sync plays through the media channel so it can mix with music apps.
Can I record my own voice cues?
Yes. Tap the microphone icon when editing a cue to record a custom voice clip. Recordings are stored on your device and never uploaded.
Why does Sport-Sync ask for microphone permission?
Only to record custom voice cues, and only when you explicitly tap record. Audio never leaves your device. Decline this permission if you don't plan to record cues — the app will still work.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@sportsync.io. Include your device model, OS version, and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots help.
Quick troubleshooting
- Timer feels off by a fraction of a second. Sport-Sync uses a high-precision phase clock. Background restrictions on iOS or Android can pause timers if the app is fully backgrounded — keep the app foregrounded for best accuracy.
- Voice cue plays late. The first cue per session may pre-warm the audio engine. Subsequent cues will be on-time.
- Importing a template fails.Make sure you're on the latest version. If the template was exported by a much newer build, ask the sender for a re-export.
